Return to Things to Do

Always swim near a lifeguard.

Guarded beach locations

Palm Beach County’s Ocean Rescue lifeguards protect swimmers at fourteen oceanfront and inlet parks from Tequesta to Boca Raton. Swimming areas are guarded when a condition flag is flying from the lifeguard tower at most parks year-round, seven days a week, from 9:00 am – 5:20 pm with exceptions at DuBois Park and Peanut Island. Guard availability may change without notice—look for the condition flag before swimming.

  • DuBois Park is guarded seven days a week during Palm Beach County public school summer recess. After school starts, the swimming areas at DuBois Park are guarded ONLY on weekends during the public school year.
  • Peanut Island is currently guarded on weekends only.
Please note, dogs are not allowed on county beaches, with the exception of service dogs as defined by the ADA.

There will be occasions in which beach access is unavailable due to beach erosion or construction, or there might not be enough sand to safely use the beach wheelchair. We strongly recommend that you call in advance to ensure the beach wheelchair is available for safe use.
