October 22, 2025 – Beginning Monday, November 3, Palm Beach County Water Utilities Department (PBCWUD) Green Cay Phase II project will continue with work on a water pipeline connecting utility property on the west side of Hagen Ranch Road, to the future site of Green Cay Park, located at the southwest corner of Flavor Pict and Jog roads in Boynton Beach. The work will involve temporarily modifying the flow of traffic in and out of the Green Cay Nature Center and Wetlands parking lot.
As the much-anticipated Green Cay Phase II project progresses towards a late 2026 completion date, PBCWUD's construction team will be laying water pipeline from the east side of Hagen Ranch Rd. across to the west, and underneath the southern-most portion of the Green Cay Nature Center and Wetlands' parking lot. Green Cay Nature Center and Wetlands will remain open to visitors for its usual business hours. All programming related to Green Cay Nature Center and Wetlands, is managed by Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation and will continue as planned. The work will be conducted in phases to minimize disruption to motorists and visitors, and is scheduled to take several weeks. Beginning Monday, November 10, work will be conducted in the driveway of Green Cay Nature Center and Wetlands, and will impact motorists. Please read below for details.
The Hagen Ranch Rd./ Green Cay Phase II pipeline project will include:
Green Cay Nature Center and Wetlands Parking Lot Temporary Modifications to Vehicular Ingress/Egress & Bus Parking
- Work will be conducted during the day, Monday through Friday;
- Beginning mid-October, portions of the southern end of the parking lot will be temporarily unavailable;
- Green Cay Nature Center and Wetlands will be open for normal business hours;
- Personnel and signage will be posted to assist in directing visitors and motorists;
- Visitors are urged to remain patient and allow extra time for parking.
- Parking spots in the southern portion of the Green Cay Nature Center and Wetlands parking lot will be temporarily cordoned off for safety.
Hagen Ranch Rd. Lane Disruptions between Lake Ida Rd. & Flavor Pict Rd.
- Beginning November 10, pipeline work will be conducted during the day, Monday through Friday;
- Beginning November 10, the Park Exit/entrance will be limited to one lane with all motorists directed in/out through the northernmost driveway;
- All necessary devices will be in place to redirect traffic as needed.
- Motorists are advised to allow additional travel time along Hagen Ranch Road between Lake Ida Rd. and Flavor Pict Rd.
- When exiting/entering Green Cay Nature Center and Wetlands, motorists are advised to exercise caution and follow the direction of posted signs and flag people who will be directing the flow of traffic.
