Palm Beach County Water Utilities Department (PBCWUD) is conducting work on a necessary repair to a water main at the intersection of SW 16th St. and Dr. M.L.K. Jr. Blvd. W in Belle Glade. The break occurred when unaffiliated contractors in the area accidentally bored the main near 501 SW 16th St.
The repair work began on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. and will require the closure of one eastbound lane on Dr. M.L.K. Jr. Blvd. W between SW 16th St. and SW 14th St. until the repair is complete. PBCWUD crews will remain onsite during the project.
All necessary devices will be in place to redirect traffic as needed. PBCWUD expects work to be ongoing for this repair until further notice and is urging commuters to plan accordingly.
At this time no residents or businesses are impacted; should the need for a boil water notification arise, affected customers will be notified. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank the community for patience and understanding as we complete the repairs as quickly and safely as possible.
