PBCWUD Receives Highest Bond Rating

Body

The Palm Beach County Water Utilities Department (PBCWUD) received a triple A bond rating from all three major rating services – S&P Global, Fitch and Moody's – Wednesday after a recent review of PBCWUD's enterprise and financial risk profile.

Each of the three services noted PBCWUD's "stable outlook" based upon a broad and diverse service area that has seen on-going growth in the customer base. PBCWUD was also noted for possessing affordable rates that are "low relative to median household income and when compared with those of neighboring systems."

Additionally, each of the three services noted PBCWUD's low debt burden while the utility was lauded for its financial management policies as well as its capital and financial planning.

PBCWUD, which is celebrating its 50th year of service, provides drinking water, reclaimed water and wastewater services to approximately 590,000 residents of Palm Beach County.
