The temporary modification of the disinfection process, that saw chlorine used to treat drinking water delivered to the eastern portion of the Palm Beach County Water Utilities Department (PBCWUD) service area, has ended as of Friday, December 22. The department is once again utilizing chloramine as the disinfectant for drinking water for those areas in the eastern portion of the county serviced by PBCWUD.
