The Honor Guard traveled to Colorado Springs, Colorado in September for the IAFF Fallen Firefighter Memorial where 306 firefighters were honored for their line-of-duty deaths (LODD). Though we did not have any PBCFR firefighters being added to wall, we still played a role in the ceremony by being a part of the bell team, which would toll the bell after each name was called. We also supported Riviera Beach Fire Rescue Honor Guard who was there to honor one of their fallen.We often take on the role of presenting a flag to a family from another department who has no Honor Guard to carry out that task. It is as honorable as presenting to one of our own.That is one of the reasons it is so important that we represent L2928 and PBCFR whether or not we have a name being added.Honor Guard and Pipes & Drums with Riviera Beach Fire Rescue LODD family of Richard Reuter (ret).9-14-249
