The Missing-in-America Project is an initiative to locate unclaimed cremated remains of United States military veterans and provide them a full military-honors funeral.The Honor Guard and Pipes & Drums have been participating in these funerals at the South Florida National Cemetery for many years. There are typically 3-4 funerals each year with an average of 15-20 veterans honored each time.Some of the remains that are located, have been sitting in funeral home closets or storage units for as many as 50 years or more, never having been claimed by family.Our role is to escort the hearse that is carrying the urns and Flags of Honor.South Florida National Cemetery4-25-2411
