Riverbend Park Equestrian Rules and Regulations
All users are hereby advised that this area is an unsupervised recreational area. All users are advised that the use of this facility is at their own risk. Failure to comply with rules and regulations may result in the revocation of privileges.
The Riding Area consists of the trails and staging area.
1. Riders must carry proof of their horse’s current negative Coggins test and provide it upon request by staff or park patron.
2. Riding hours are sunrise –sunset on designated trails.
3. Riders 16 years of age and under are required to wear an approved safety helmet in accordance with “Nicole’s Law” (regardless of riding style) and must be accompanied by an adult.
4. A rider may not deny another rider the use of any riding area.
5. Horses must be attended at all times and are not permitted to be turned out in any arena.
6. Any horse known to display harmful behavior (like kicking and biting) must wear a red ribbon in its tail to alert other riders.
7. Riders are prohibited from riding in a way that will harm themselves, the horse or others– Racing is prohibited.
8. Horses are not to be tied to fences, trees, pavilions, equipment, gates, etc.
9. Paid lessons or training for a fee is prohibited.
10. No trailers are to be unhooked on roadways.
11. No tents, grills (other then provided), fires or overnight camping.
12. Riverbend Park is an archeologically sensitive area; there shall be no ground disturbances at anytime for any reason.
Under Florida law, an equine activity sponsor or equine professional is not liable for an injury to, or death of, a participant in equine activities resulting from the inherent risks of equine activities. Florida Statute 773.02
- Nearly 7 miles of equestrian trails
- Access from C-18 from neighboring communities
- Equestrian parking is available at the park. All vehicles and trailers must be out of the parking area when the park closes
- Commerical activity prohibited
- East Equestrian Loop Trail - 2.75 miles
- West Equestrian Loop Trail (east of the river) - 1.75 miles
- West Equestrian Loop Trail (west of the river) - 1.0 miles
- C-18 and Triangle Loop Trail - 1.5 miles
- Big Hammock Equestrian Loop Trail - 1.0 miles
- Riverbend Park Equestrian Trail Extension- 1.0 miles
