The Friends of Okeeheelee Nature Center, Inc. is designed to promote an appreciation of our natural world to the general public through educational programs that reflect Okeeheelee Nature Center's commitment to the stewardship of Florida's natural resources. This is done by raising monies for the enhancement and diversification of programs, assisting staff with recruitment of volunteers, training programs, and publicity. We invite you to support the work of the center as a non-profit corporation by becoming a member. All monies collected are used to benefit the Center and its programs. Your annual tax-deductible contribution funds materials for service and management projects, exhibits, and other educational pursuits.
Members receive invitations to all special happenings and a 10% discount at the gift shop.
FONC’s Mission Statement
We are a non-profit organization that supports Okeeheelee Nature Center in its mission to promote an appreciation of our natural world, engage our community in conserving our natural resources, and provide educational opportunities for fostering a deeper understanding of Palm Beach County's ecosystems.
We support Okeeheelee Nature Center, its staff, volunteers, and animal ambassadors, by raising funds to enhance exhibits, trails, facilities, and educational programs to provide an enriching experience for Nature Center visitors.
We hope to inspire our community to be part of our stewardship of the natural world and ensure future generations develop a life-long desire to protect and conserve our natural resources.
Membership Form
Join us for our monthly meetings where we discuss general business and plan upcoming programs and activities. We'd love to hear your thoughts and ideas! Meetings are free and open to the public. Call the nature center to confirm the date and time.
