Reservations are required for ALL programs (unless otherwise noted). All participants are required to sign a Program Participation Form before each program.

Activities promote environmental awareness, conservation, recreation, and educate on health and wellness in the community​.

Benefits of attending a program at Daggerwing Nature Center

TO REGISTER and MAKE PAYMENT for PROGRAMS:
Online - Select the “Online Services” tab at the top of this page and click on Register/Pay for Program; Login with your username and password. (New users must create a household account online-please follow online instructions)

In Person - Visit the nature center during operating hours.

ANIMAL FEEDINGS & TALKS
Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, 2:45 p.m.
Saturdays, 1:00 p.m.
All ages, FREE (Reservations not required)
During feeding time, listen to a short talk about one of Daggerwing’s resident animals.

NOVEMBER

All ABOUT AMPHIBIANS 
Saturday, November 16, 10:30 a.m.
Ages 5+, $5/participant (Reservations required)
Amphibians are amazing!  Learn about different types of amphibians, including frogs and toads, and find out why they are so important to the ecosystem. You’ll even get to meet some live residents here in Florida! 

MOTHER NATURE & ME: THANKSGIVING WITH THE ANIMALS

Ages 2-5 (w/guardian), $4/child (Reservations required)
Get ready to jump and shout with Mother Nature through stories, live animals, activities, and a craft specifically designed for toddlers and preschoolers!
 
BIRDING 101
Saturday, November 23, 10:30 a.m.
Ages 5+, $5/participant (Reservations required)
Learn about the exciting hobby of bird watching. One of our naturalists will teach about different types of birds and identification skills. We will even be gearing up for Thanksgiving and talking about Florida turkeys! Af-terwards, we will practice these new skills during a guided birding adventure.
 
DIPNETTING
Wednesday, November 27, 10:30 a.m.
Ages 8+, $10/participant (Reservations required)
Find out what creatures naturally live in the water of a wetland! Learn how to collect small pond animals and then observe and identify your findings. Please bring water, sun protection, and closed-toe shoes that can get wet/muddy.​

MOTHER NATURE & ME: TURTLE TIME

SENSATIONAL SNAKES

Join a naturalist for a family friendly program focusing on the amazing world of snakes! Learn about these slithering serpents and meet one up close and personal.

INTRO TO ARCHERY
Saturday, December 21, 10:30 a.m.
Adults and children ages 8+, $10/participant (Reservations required)
Join USA Archery certified staff and learn about the exciting sport of archery. This program teaches archery safety, skills, and proper use of a bow and arrow before practicing on the range. Equipment is provided. Note: Bows may be difficult to pull for smaller children.
 
FLORIDA ANIMAL EXPERIENCE

Meet live animals that can be found right here in Florida! Learn how these native creatures are adapted to survive in the many habitats found in our home state.
