Reservations are required for ALL programs (unless otherwise noted). All participants are required to sign a Program Participation Form before each program.

Activities promote environmental awareness, conservation, recreation and educate on health and wellness in the community​.

Skill Development: Participants learn new skills and improve existing ones, enhancing their overall competence and confidence.

NOTICE: Effective October 1, 2025, all payments made with a credit or debit card (online or in-person) will incur a 3.0% service fee. This fee is assessed and collected by the credit card processor, not by Palm Beach County. No service fee will be assessed on payments made by check or cash. Service fees are non-refundable.

MOTHER NATURE & ME: FUN FROGS

Get ready to jump and shout with Mother Nature through stories, live animals, activities and a craft specifically designed for toddlers and preschoolers!

BUILDING MEGALITHS: ARCHAEOLOGY FOR KIDS (part of the Florida Archaeology Month Lecture Series​)

“Imagine you’re an ancient builder 5,000 years ago! In our archaeology sandbox, you’ll stack and balance stones just like they did, to create your very own Stonehenge, Dolmen, or Long Barrow.” Presented by: Bonita Lee, MSEE, BSEE, Digital and Landscape Archaeologist
 
DIPNETTING

Find out what creatures naturally live in the water of a wetland! Learn how to collect small pond animals and then observe and identify your findings. Please bring water, sun protection and closed-toe shoes that can get wet/muddy.

Ever wondered what Daggerwing’s boardwalk would be like after dark? First, learn about nocturnal animals in our classroom and then join a naturalist on a tour of the boardwalk at night!
 
RADICAL REPTILES
Saturday, March 21, 10:30 a.m.
Adults and children ages 5+, $5/participant (Reservations required)
Join a naturalist for a family friendly program focusing on the amazing world of reptiles! Learn about these diverse scaly creatures and meet some resident reptiles up close and personal.
 
INTRO TO ARCHERY
Saturday, March 28, 10:30 a.m. 
Adults and children ages 8+, $10/participant (Reservations required)
Join USA Archery certified staff and learn about the exciting sport of archery. This program teaches archery safety, skills and proper use of a bow and arrow before practicing on the range. Equipment is provided. Note: Bows may be difficult to pull for smaller children.

APRIL

FULL MOON NIGHT HIKE

Ever wondered what Dag-gerwing’s boardwalk would be like after dark? First, learn about nocturnal animals in our classroom and then join a naturalist on a tour of the boardwalk at night under a full moon!
 
BUTTERFLY GARDENING
Saturday, April 4, 10:30 a.m.
Adults and children ages 5+, $5/participant (Reservations required)
Learn all about local butterflies and discover how to attract them with a butterfly garden. Find out which plants are best to attract a multitude of species and enjoy a guided tour of Daggerwing Nature Center’s butterfly garden.

SPECIAL EVENT: GOPHER TORTOISE DAY
Friday, April 10, 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
All ages, FREE (Reservations not required)
Celebrate Gopher Tortoise Day at Daggerwing Nature Center! Learn about these native reptiles and the importance of protecting this keystone species. This special event will feature coloring sheets, informational brochures and special presentations throughout the day with our very own gopher tortoise, Fritz!

FLORIDA ANIMALS: BAT CONSERVATION INTERNATIONAL
Saturday, April 11, 10:30 a.m.
Adults and children ages 5+, $5/participant (Reservations required)
Bat Conservation International is an organization dedicated to ending bat extinctions and protecting their habi-tats. Join a representative from Bat Conservation International and learn all about native Florida bats and why they are important to Florida!
