Reservations are required for ALL programs (unless otherwise noted). All participants are required to sign a Program Participation Form before each program.

Activities promote environmental awareness, conservation, recreation and educate on health and wellness in the community​.

NOTICE: Effective October 1, 2025, all payments made with a credit or debit card (online or in-person) will incur a 3.0% service fee. This fee is assessed and collected by the credit card processor, not by Palm Beach County. No service fee will be assessed on payments made by check or cash. Service fees are non-refundable.

ANIMAL KEEPER FOR A DAY
Saturday, January 31, 10:30 a.m. 
Ages 8+, $10/participant (Reservations required)
Animal keepers have the coolest job! Work behind the scenes with animal care staff and volunteers to feed, clean exhibits and provide enrichments to the animals at the nature center. Learn what it takes to care for these special animal ambassadors.

MOTHER NATURE & ME: LOVE BUGS
Tuesday, February 3, 10:30 a.m.
Ages 2-5 (w/guardian), $4/child (Reservations required)
Get ready to jump and shout with Mother Nature through stories, live animals, activities and a craft specifically designed for toddlers and preschoolers!

INTRO TO ARCHERY
Saturday, February 7, 10:30 a.m. 
Adults and children ages 8+, $10/participant (Reservations required)
Join USA Archery certified staff and learn about the exciting sport of archery. This program teaches archery safety, skills and proper use of a bow and arrow before practicing on the range. Equipment is provided. Note: Bows may be difficult to pull for smaller children. 

DAGGERWING VISITS THE LIBRARY: BIRDS 
Tuesday, February 10, 3:00 p.m.
Adults and children ages 5+, FREE (Reservations required)
Enjoy a special program about birds, featuring a visit from one of the nature center’s resident animal ambassadors! Located at the West Boca Branch Library. Call the library for details and RSVP at (561) 470-1600.

NIGHT HIKE 
Friday, February 13, 6:00 p.m.
Adults and children ages 8+, $5/participant (Reservations required)
Ever wondered what Daggerwing’s boardwalk would be like after dark? First, learn about nocturnal animals in our classroom and then join a naturalist on a tour of the boardwalk at night!

BIRDS IN LOVE
Saturday, February 14, 10:30 a.m.
Adults and children ages 5+, $5/participant (Reservations required)
Valentine’s Day is for the birds! Can birds be in love? Do male and female birds look the same? Who takes care of the eggs? Join a naturalist to get these answers and more during a special Valentine’s Day version of Birding 101!

FISHING FUN
Wednesday, February 18, 10:00 a.m.
Adults and children ages 8+, $10/participant (Reservations required)
Learn the basics of freshwater fishing! Class includes fishing pole basics, casting tips, and freshwater fish identification. All fishing supplies are provided. Please bring a water bottle, sun protection and closed-toe shoes that can get wet/muddy. 

SENSATIONAL SNAKES

Join a naturalist for a family friendly program focusing on the amazing world of snakes! Learn about these slithering serpents and meet one up close and personal.
