Reservations are required for ALL programs (unless otherwise noted). All participants are required to sign a Program Participation Form before each program.

Activities promote environmental awareness, conservation, recreation and educate on health and wellness in the community​.

Skill Development: Participants learn new skills and improve existing ones, enhancing their overall competence and confidence.

NOTICE: Effective October 1, 2025, all payments made with a credit or debit card (online or in-person) will incur a 3.0% service fee. This fee is assessed and collected by the credit card processor, not by Palm Beach County. No service fee will be assessed on payments made by check or cash. Service fees are non-refundable.

Online - Select the “Online Services” tab at the top of this page and click on Register/Pay for Program; Login with your username and password. (New users must create a household account online-please follow online instructions)

In Person - Visit the nature center during operating hours.

ANIMAL FEEDINGS & TALKS
Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, 2:45 p.m.
Saturdays, 1:00 p.m.
All ages, FREE (Reservations not required)
During feeding time, listen to a short talk about one of Daggerwing’s resident animals.

BIRDING 101: PURPLE MARTINS
Saturday, May 2, 10:30 a.m.
Adults and children ages 5+, $5/participant (Reservations required)
May is Purple Martin Awareness month! Join us for a special presentation by Shelly Rozenberg, our local Audubon Everglades Purple Martin Program Coordinator. This will be a time dedicated to learning all about Purple Martin conservation, including a tour of our housing and conservation area.  
 
MOTHER NATURE & ME: TURTLE TIME
Tuesday, May 5, 10:30 a.m.
Ages 2-5 (w/guardian), $4/child (Reservations required)
Get ready to jump and shout with Mother Nature through stories, live animals, activities and a craft specifically designed for toddlers and preschoolers!
 
NIGHT HIKE 
Friday, May 8, 7:30 p.m.
Adults and children ages 8+, $5/participant (Reservations required)
Ever wondered what Daggerwing’s boardwalk would be like after dark? First, learn about nocturnal animals in our classroom and then join a naturalist on a tour of the boardwalk at night!

FISHING FUN
Saturday, May 9, 10:30 a.m.
Adults and children ages 8+, $10/participant (Reservations required)
Learn the basics of freshwater fishing! Class includes fishing pole basics, casting tips and freshwater fish identification. All fishing supplies are provided. Please bring a water bottle, sun protection and closed-toe shoes that can get wet/muddy. 
 
DAGGERWING VISITS THE LIBRARY: SNAKES
Tuesday, May 12, 3:00 p.m.
Adults and children ages 5+, FREE (Reservations required)
Enjoy a special program about snakes featuring a visit from the nature center’s resident animal ambassadors! Located at the Glades Rd Branch Library. Call the library for details and RSVP at (561) 482-4554.
 
INTRO TO ARCHERY
Saturday, May 16, 10:30 a.m. 
Adults and children ages 8+, $10/participant (Reservations required)
Join USA Archery certified staff and learn about the exciting sport of archery. This program teaches archery safety, skills and proper use of a bow and arrow before practicing on the range. Equipment is provided. Note: Bows may be difficult to pull for smaller children.
 
BUTTERFLY GARDENING
Saturday, May 23, 10:30 a.m.
Adults and children ages 5+, $5/participant (Reservations required)
Learn all about local butterflies and discover how to attract them with a butterfly garden. Find out which plants are best to attract a multitude of species and enjoy a guided tour of Daggerwing Nature Center’s butterfly garden.
