Disaster Recovery Centers Operations

The Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) is the largest and most geographically distributed location throughout the Presidential Declaration process for Individual Assistance (IA).  It is a readily accessible facility or mobile office where applicants may go for information about FEMA or other disaster assistance programs, or for questions related to their case. Some of the services may include:

  • Guidance regarding disaster recovery
  • Clarification of any written correspondence received
  • Housing Assistance and Rental Resource information
  • Answers to questions, resolution to problems and referrals to agencies that may provide further assistance
  • Status of applications being processed by FEMA
  • SBA program information

For most survivors seeking IA, the personnel in the DRC are representatives from FEMA, State and Palm Beach County.  They are the only contact the survivor will have with government.  The centers are comprised of staff from the Federal, State, and Palm Beach County, volunteer and faith-based organizations that work jointly in accomplishing the needs by providing individual assistance.
