Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (EVCSs)

The Zoning Division, along with the Office of Resilience (OOR), will be holding a series of meetings on Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (EVCSs). Staff will be seeking input primarily on the Board of County Commissioner (BCC) direction to amend the Unified Land Development Code (ULDC) to require EVCS Infrastructure for new developments with Business or Professional Office, or Multifamily uses, and Level 3, DC Fast charging stations at Retail Gas and Fuel Sales uses. New and substantially renovated developments will be required to implement the infrastructure and charging stations, respectively. The Subcommittee will also be tasked to explore a possible requirement for EVCS Infrastructure being implemented with Retail uses. The proposed changes will be included in the 2021-01 ULDC Round of Amendments, slated for adoption in August 2021.
