Population and Demographics
Palm Beach County has come of age. From a pioneer village for fishermen and animal trappers in the 1870’s, to a winter resort haven for the wealthy in the 1920’s, to a blossoming metropolis in the post World War II era, the County has undergone tremendous changes and growth. What are we like? Where are we going in the future? Planning Division often receives requests for demographic information from the public, whether for grant writing or market research. Population Allocation Model:
This report is a land use based allocation model, updated every other year by Planning staff, giving small area population projections through 2050. The report lays out the history, methodology, underlying assumptions, and the data sources for the development of the allocation model.
