While enjoying the nature trails, please remember the following are not permitted:

  • Pets
  • Food
  • Alcohol
  • Jogging, running or speed walking
  • Biking or skating
  • Smoking
  • Fishing/hunting

Things to Look For:

White-tailed Deer! They may be spotted on the Wildlife Trail at the Deer Enclosure overlook

Atala Butterflies! These small butterflies were once endangered, now they roam the butterfly garden in high populations feeding on the coontie plant

Painted Buntings!  These beautiful birds are frequent visitors of the bird feeder behind the nature center from late fall to early spring

Gopher Tortoises!  Grazing tortoises are a common sight on many of the trails. Keep an eye out for their burrows, and be sure not to approach or disturb this protected species.

Wood Ducks!  This mascot of the nature center nests during the winter/spring months in the boxes found in any of the pond and marsh areas
