Reservations are required for group programs and all program participants are required to sign a Program Participation Form before each program.

Groups are welcome to visit the nature center and explore the animals, exhibits, and trails during regular operating hours at no charge. Please call us to let us know in advance when you are coming so we can ensure there are no conflicts. If your group would like a staff-led program, see below.

Group Programs

Okeeheelee Nature Center offers educational programs for specialty groups such as scout troops, camp groups, youth groups, social clubs, etc. Activities promote environmental awareness, conservation, recreation, and educate on health and wellness in the community​​.

Program options:​

  • ​Group Naturalist Programs
    • Maximum of 60 participants
    • $5 per participant ($50 minimum charge)
    • Approximately 1.5 hours
      • ~40 min live animal encounter
      • ~30 min activity
      • ~20 min facilitated building exploration time

  • Group Outdoor Adventure Programs
    • Ages 8 and up only
    • Maximum of 14 participants
    • $10 per participant ($50 minimum charge)
    • Approximately 2 hours
    • Facilitated by certified instructors
    • Includes all necessary equipment​

Children’s group programs include one free chaperone (staff/parent) for every 10 paying children. Additional adults must pay the program fee.

Program Reservations

Programs are offered Tuesdays-Saturdays.

Group Program Request Form

To book a program, please complete the program reservation request form and email or fax it to the nature center for processing. Please allow up to three business days for processing once you send your request. Reservations are taken on a first-come, first-served basis. We book up quickly, so please make your reservations well in advance. When you are booked, you will receive a written confirmation, which is also your invoice. Payment will be due upon arrival to the program by cash, check or Visa, Mastercard or Discover. Please be aware credit cards are not processed on site and a receipt is provided via e-mail.
