All programs taking place in August and later, will require payment at the time of registration/reservation online or in person. You can get a head start by clicking here and creating your login in the upper right corner of the page.​​

TO REGISTER and MAKE PAYMENT for PROGRAMS:
Online - Select the “Online Services” tab at the top of this page and click on Register/Pay for Program; Login with your username and password. (New users must create a household account online-please follow online instructions)

 
In Person - Visit the nature center during operating hours.

DAILY ANIMAL FEEDINGS

  • Daily when the nature center is open, 3:15-3:30 p.m.
    Families / All Ages, FREE (Reservations NOT Required)
    3:15pm is feeding time! Listen to a short talk about a specific animal and then watch while they are fed.
    • Wednesday – Alligator
    • Thursday – Snake
    • Friday – Owl
    • Saturday - Alligator

WEEKLY WELLNESS PROGRAMS

  • GENTLE YOGA
    Fridays, 3:30 p.m. (Call for class dates)
    $10/class (Reservations required)
    Yoga can help one find peace, tranquility, mindfulness, strength, balance, and flexibility. Bring a yoga mat.

  • MOTHER NATURE & ME: BEAUTIFUL BUTTERFLIES
    Tuesday, July 2, 10:30 a.m.
    Ages 2-5 (w/guardian), $4/child (Reservations required)
    Get ready to jump and shout with Mother Nature through stories, live animals, activities, and a craft specifically designed for toddlers and preschoolers!

  • RADICAL REPTILES
    Saturday, July 6, 10:30 a.m.
    Ages 5+, $3/participant (Reservations required)
    Join a naturalist for a family friendly program focusing on the amazing world of reptiles! Learn about these diverse scaly creatures and meet some resident reptiles up close and personal.
     
  • DAGGERWING VISITS THE LIBRARY: OWLS
    Tuesday, July 9, 3:30 p.m.
    Ages 8+, FREE (Reservations required)
    Enjoy a special program featuring a visit from some of the nature center’s resident animal ambassadors, at the West Boca Branch Library! Call the West Boca Branch Library for details and RSVP at (561) 470-1600.​

  • MOTHER NATURE & ME: DAY AT THE BEACH
    Tuesday, July 16, 10:30 a.m.
    Ages 2-5 (w/guardian), $4/child (Reservations required)
    Get ready to jump and shout with Mother Nature through stories, live animals, activities, and a craft specifically designed for toddlers and preschoolers!​

  • INTRO TO ARCHERY 
    Wednesday, July 24, 10:00 a.m.
    Ages 8+, $10/participant (Reservations required)
    Join the USA Archery and N.F.A.A. certified staff and learn about the sport of archery. This exciting program teaches archery safety skills and proper use of a bow and arrow before getting time to practice on the range.
     
  • ANIMAL TOY SHOP
    Saturday, July 27, 10:30 a.m.
    Ages 8+, $3/participant (Reservations required)
    Watching TV, riding a bike, reading and eating ice cream are all fun activities for people. However, what does an animal like to do for fun? Learn how Daggerwing Nature Center cares for the animals by providing “enrichment” in their habitats and help create some hands-on enrichment items to provide to the animals for their enjoyment!

 
AUGUST
  • FISHING FUN
    Saturday, August 3, 10:30 a.m.
    Ages 8+, $10/participant (Reservations required)
    Learn the basics of freshwater fishing and practice learned skills. Class includes fishing pole basics, casting tips, and freshwater fish identification. All fishing supplies are provided. Please bring a water bottle, sun protection, and closed-toed shoes that can get wet/muddy.

    Learn about the animals that live in the wetlands and how they are adapted for life in this habitat. Live collection animals will be featured during the presentation to enhance the educational experience​!
