Reservations are required for ALL programs (unless otherwise noted). Please call if you are not able to attend the program to allow those on the waiting list to attend. If you are more than five minutes late to a program you have made a reservation for, your spot will be given to a person on the waiting list.

Participants/guardians are required to sign a Program Participation Form upon arrival to the program. Program fees are due upon arrival to the program.

DAILY ANIMAL FEEDINGS

  • Daily when the nature center is open, 3:15-3:30 p.m.
    Families / All Ages, FREE (Reservations NOT Required)
    3:15pm is feeding time! Listen to a short talk about a specific animal and then watch while they are fed.
    • Wednesday – Opossum
    • Thursday – Snake
    • Friday – Owl
    • Saturday - Alligator

NOVEMBER

  • ANIMAL INVADERS
    Saturday, November 4, 10:30 a.m.
    Ages 5+, $3/participant (Reservations required)
    Learn about exotic animals that are now making their home in Florida!  Meet several animals considered to be invasive and find out how you can help conserve our local natural resources.

  • MOTHER NATURE & ME: ANIMAL BABIES
    Tuesday, November 14, 10:30 a.m.
    Ages 2-5 (w/ guardian), $4/child (Reservations required)
    Get ready to jump and shout with Mother Nature through stories, live animals, activities, and a craft specifically designed for toddlers and preschoolers!

  • DAGGERWING VISITS THE LIBRARY: ALLIGATORS
    Tuesday, November 14, 3:30 p.m.
    All ages, FREE (Reservations required) 
    Enjoy a special program about alligators featuring a visit from Dash, the nature center’s resident animal ambassador, at the West Boca Branch Library! Call the West Boca Branch Library for details and to RSVP at 561-470-1600.

  • WETLAND ANIMALS
    Saturday, November 18, 10:30 a.m.
    Ages 5+, $3/participant (Reservations required)
    Learn the animals that live in the wetlands and how they are adapted for life in this habitat.  Live collection animals will be featured during the presentation to enhance the educational experience!

  • MOTHER NATURE & ME: THANKSGIVING WITH THE ANIMALS
    Tuesday, November 21, 10:30 a.m.
    Ages 2-5 (w/ guardian), $4/child (Reservations required)
    Get ready to jump and shout with Mother Nature through stories, live animals, activities, and a craft specifically designed for toddlers and preschoolers!

  • FISHING FUN
    Wednesday, November 22, 10:00 a.m.
    Ages 8+, $10/participant (Reservations required)
    Learn the basics of freshwater fishing and practice learned skills. Class includes fishing pole basics, casting tips, and freshwater fish identification. All fishing supplies are provided. Please bring a water bottle, sun protection, and closed-toed shoes that can get wet/muddy.​

  • BIRDING 101
    Saturday, December 16, 10:30 a.m.
    All ages, $3/person (Reservations required)
    Learn about the exciting hobby of bird watching! Join a naturalist for a family friendly program that will teach how to identify birds with the use of binoculars and field guides. Then enjoy a tour along the boardwalk to practice learned birding skills.

  • INTRO TO ORIENTEERING 
    Friday, December 22, 10:00 a.m. (No School Day)
    Ages 8+, $10/participant (Reservations required)
    Join a naturalist and learn how to navigate using a map and compass! Participants will then get to practice the directional skills they learn on a fun, outside adventure course. Please bring a water bottle, sun protection, and closed-toed shoes.

  • SENSATIONAL SNAKES
    Saturday, December 30, 10:30 a.m.
    All ages, $3/participant (Reservations required)
    Learn all about snakes from a naturalist including how to identify the most common snakes found in southern Florida. After, meet some of the nature center’s slithering residents up close!
