​
​Okeeheelee Nature Center features 2.5 miles of trails winding through 90 acres of pine flatwoods and wetlands. Highlights of the center include hands-on exhibits, animal encounters and a nature related gift shop. Marvel at our birds of prey, touch a live snake or prowl for owls during one of our many programs scheduled throughout the year for families, youth and adults.​​​​​​

​Hours of Operation
The nature center is closed during observed County holidays –​ January 1 & 20, February 17, May 26, June 19, July 4, September 1, October 13, November 11, 27 & 28 and December 24 & 25.

Closed Monday, April 27
Open Tuesday, April 28, 1:00 pm - 4:30 pm
Open Wednesday, April 29, 1:00 pm -  4:30 pm
Open Thursday, April 30, 1:00 pm - 4:30 pm
Closed on Friday, May 1*
Open Saturday, May 2, 10:00 am - 4:30 pm
*Due to all staff training on Friday, May 1, Okeeheelee Nature Center will be closed.
The trails will remain open during these special operating hours.​
