Green Cay Nature Center offers 1.5 miles of elevated boardwalk that takes you through 100 acres of constructed wetland. The trails are wheelchair and stroller accessible, and there are benches on the boardwalk and around the outside of the Nature Center for those that would like to sit and enjoy the beautiful scenery and abundant wildlife. Visitors do not have to pay admission to Green Cay Nature Center to enjoy this boardwalk.

Custard Apple Trail​

Entrance: 4759 S. Congress Avenue, Lake Worth

The Custard Apple Trail was the first nature trail developed in the County park system. The pond apple tree appears in large quantities throughout the wetland portion of this trail. Herons, egrets, osprey, marsh rabbits, and raccoons are daily visitors, as well as several ecosystems such as hardwood swamp, maritime hammock, pine flatwoods, and wet prairie. Admission to Custard Apple Trail is free for all those who visit.

Riverbend Park

Riverbend Park offers 15 miles of nature trails for hiking and bicycling. The interconnecting trail system traverses through a mosaic landscape of pine flatwoods, cypress swamps, oak hammocks, and wet prairies with breathtaking views of freshwater lakes, ponds, and sloughs with an abundance of wildlife including white-tailed deer, sandhill cranes, and wild turkeys. Visitors to Riverbend Park do not need to pay admission to walk this trail.​

Okeeheelee Park

Okeeheelee Nature Center features nature trails winding through ninety acres of native pine flatwoods and wetlands. The center's 2.5 miles of trails include paved trails which are wheelchair and stroller-accessible and soft-surface trails which lead into more remote areas of the sanctuary. Visitors do not have to pay admission to Okeeheelee Nature Center to walk these trails.

Burt Aaronson South County Regional Park

Daggerwing Nature Center has two 1/3 mile boardwalk trails which take you on a relaxing journey through natural swampland. The boardwalk is wheelchair and stroller accessible, and bench-style seating and an observation tower are available for you to view the abundant plant and animal life including: osprey, woodpeckers, butterflies, endangered wood storks, alligators, a wide variety of bromeliads, and our namesake, the Ruddy Daggerwing butterfly. Visitors do not have to pay admission to Daggerwing Nature Center to enjoy this boardwalk.
