PALM BEACH COUNTY CDBG-CV Mortgage Assistance Program

GRANT MAXIMUM AWARD:  $10,000

(Up to six-months mortgage and HOA payments, but not to exceed $10,000.  Assistance will be awarded as a grant or forgivable loan.)​ 

ELIGIBLE MORTGAGE ASSISTANCE: Funding will provide assistance to income eligible households, impacted by COVID-19, who are delinquent in  their first mortgage and escrow payments (PITI), second mortgages, late fees, condominium and homeowners' association payments, special assessments, and other mortgage associated costs related to COVID-19.

APPLICANT SELECTION CRITERIA: Applications will be accepted on a first come, first qualified, first served basis, subject to funding availability.   Applicants must meet the program requirements, and must provide the following updated required documents: 

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS: 
      1. Proof of loss of income, reduction in hours, or une​mployment as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, on or after March 1, 2020; 

      2. Copy of recent pay check stub for applicant, co-applicant and ALL working adult household members  (OR) a current completed verification of employment within 30 days of application submission​;  

      3.   A completed 2021 YTD profit and loss statement (if self-employed) for applicant, co-applicant and ALL working adult household members​; 
 
      4.  If an adult student is employed - copy of current class schedule on school's letterhead or a document with the school's logo;
      
      5.   Copy of most recent social security, retirement and/o​r disability award letter for applicant, co-applicant and ALL household members;
     
      6.   Copy of valid drivers' license or state identification for applicant, co-applicant and ALL adult household members;
 
      7.  Copy of Birth Certificates or vald U.S. Passport (OR) Naturalization Certificate for all household members.  For Non-U.S. Citizen household members, provide a copy of a valid Permanent Resident Card
   
      8.   Copy of court ordered child support documentation/ALL appropriate legal documentation for adoption, divorce, battered spouse and restraining order for all applicable household members;
   
      9.  Copy of most recent bank statements, (OR) current completed verification of deposit for applicant, co-applicant and ALL adult household members;
 
      10.  Most recent mortgage payment statement showing proof of the applicant's delinquency; 
 
      11. Completed W9 form from lender and/or HOA (2018 version); and

      12. Copy of homeowners'/condominium association delinqu​ent statement (if applicable).
         
    • NOTE: Mortgage  and HOA payments must have been current as of February 29, 2020.  Individuals with a forbearance and/or mortgage modification plan in place will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • Homeowners who received first mortgage financing through Palm Beach County Department of Housing and Economic Sustainability, are not eligible to participate in this program.
  • Property must be applicant(s) primary residence.
  • Property must be located in Palm Beach County.
  • Applicants MUST BE at least one-month (30+ days) delinquent at the time of application submittal.
