​On November 8, 2022, the voters of Palm Beach County approved the issuance of Workforce/Affordable Housing General Obligation Bonds (Bonds) in an amount not to exceed $200M for the purpose of financing all or a portion of newly created workforce and affordable housing within Palm Beach County.


​The Resolution (R2022-0626) approved by the voters provides funding criteria and bond processes including project requirements, loan terms deed restrictions, project selection, credit underwriting and compliance and monitoring requirements.


On November 22, 2022, the Board of County Commissioners approved a Resolution (R2022-1405) authorizing the issuance of the Bonds and the filing of a complaint of validation pursuant to Chapter 75 of the Florida Statutes; which was validated by the courts on February 17, 2023.


On October 3, 2023, the Palm Beach Coun​ty Board of County Commissioners approved the Final Housing Bond Allocation Process which included the General Guidelines from Resolution R2202-0626, and additional funding criteria.


The Department of Housing & Economic Development will have primary responsibility for administration of the housing bond program and will provide updates on this page for timelines with respect to the issuance of the Bonds and Requests for Proposals.
