Price is determined by averaging the wholesale cost of the following native shrubs at various sizes as found in the February 2026 Plant Finder ​: Florida privet (Forestiera segregata), Pink Muhly grass (Muhlenbergia capillaris), Simpson's stopper (Myrcianthes fragrans), Wild coffee (Psychotria nervosa), Walter's viburnum (Viburnum obovatum), and Common Milkweed (Asclepias syriaca) and using that dollar amount . The equivalent value for each container size is then used to determine the number of shrubs required to replace one field grown slash pine mitigation tree (Pinus elliottii var. 'densa') with a 12 foot height and a 2.5 inch trunk diameter (dbh) wholesale price of $145.00 planted either onsite or into an approved publically owned parcel​​, since it is the most prevalent species requiring replacement​.

Price  is determined by averaging the costs of saw palmetto (Serenoa repens), at various sizes as found in the February 2026, Plant Finder.  The equivalent value for each container size is then used to determine the number of shrubs required to replace one field grown slash pine mitigation tree (Pinus elliottii var. 'densa') with a 12 foot height and a 2.5 inch trunk diameter (dbh) wholesale price of $145.00 planted either onsite or into an approved publically owned parcel, since it is the most prevalent species requiring replacement​.
