The Ball Park of the Palm Beaches
A big thank you to our Frontline Heroes.
During the COVID pandemic our Nurses, EMS and Law Enforcement Officers put
their lives on the line to help those affected by the pandemic. To thank
them, Commissioner Sachs arranged a baseball game between the Washington
Nationals and the Houston Astros at the Ball Park of the Palm Beaches. It
was a major gesture of gratitude to our Frontline Heroes.
Consulate Community ID Day
An ID card is essential to access County services and many of our
residents may not qualify for State identification. Therefore,
Commissioner Sachs organized three Consular offices, Honduras, Guatemala
and El Salvador, to identify and register their citizens. The venue was
held at a county facility along with a COVID vaccination van as a
community outreach.

Jay DiPietro,
Past President of Boca West Country Club and Community Advocate
Jay DiPietro raised millions for children with special needs. In his
honor, Commissioner Maria Sachs proposed the naming of a roadway in his
memory that leads from Lake Worth Road to the Boundless Playground, a
four-acre accessible playground that held a special place in his heart.
Ben Ferencz, Prosecutor at the Nuremberg Trials
As the prosecutor at the Nuremberg Trials, Ben Ferencz presided over the
prosecution of some of the worst criminals in history. As a resident in
Commissioner Sachs’ district, his story has been told worldwide as the
last survivor of those historic times. Commissioner Sachs asked Governor
Ron DeSantis to award the highest honor in the State of Florida, The Medal
of Freedom, to our local hero.
Transportation Conference
As development increases in our county, transportation becomes a
challenge. Commissioner Sachs invited the Secretary of the Florida
Department of Transportation to meet with community leaders, county
engineers, and professors and students from Florida Atlantic University.
Working together, solutions were discussed to alleviate traffic,
congestion and aging infrastructure.

Sachs Volunteer Brigade
After COVID, many of our residents wanted to give back to the community.
In an effort to place volunteers with accredited organizations,
Commissioner Sachs invited various groups to showcase their volunteer
opportunities. Buses delivered eager volunteers to help out where the help
is most needed.
Transportation and Housing Economic Summit
The Summit, initiated by Commissioner Maria Sachs, brought together
industry, public, and other organizations to discuss solutions to housing
and transportation issues. Held at the Palm Beach County Convention
Center, it was a great success in initiating our County’s reemergence as a
leader.
