About Us

Capital Improvements Division (CID) is responsible for managing the design and construction of facilities within Palm Beach County except for Airports, Roadways, ERM and Water Utilities projects which have their own departments.

Our typical projects include parks, Sheriff's facilities, fire stations, libraries, general government offices, etc. The Convention Center project was managed by CID. We use outside consultants for all of our design work. Our projects use the traditional design-bid-build method, Job Order Contracting, annual contractors and CM@Risk is considered on larger, complex projects.

Each project is assigned a Project Manager who handles the project from consultant selection, through design, and construction.

In the past 4 years, CID has awarded over $150,000,000 in construction contracts and over $16,000,000 in consultant fees.
