VOLUNTEER EVENT

What: Remove trash from Intracoastal Waterway shoreline

Where: Juno Dunes Natural Area – West Tract – 14501 S. U.S. Highway 1 – Juno Beach

When: Saturday, July 17 2021

Time: 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. (Volunteers must be on site no later than 8:10 a.m. The group will be trucked to the cleanup area which is several miles west of the parking lot.)

Directions: From I-95 exit at Donald Ross Road – head east on Donald Ross Road to U.S. Highway 1 – turn left and head north on U.S. Highway 1 for roughly ¼ mile – the parking lot entrance is on the west side of U.S. Highway 1 – you will have to make a U-turn to access the parking lot.

Additional Information: Volunteers should wear old clothes and shoes that they will not mind getting wet and muddy. We will be cleaning up the mangrove shoreline – be prepared to do some crawling in and over mangrove roots. Hats and sunscreen are recommended. Restroom facilities are not available at the site. The Department will supply tools, gloves, and refreshments. Event participation is limited to the first 12 volunteers who register.

Additional Details: The volunteer projects are designed for volunteers ages 16 and older. Volunteers 15 and under must be accompanied by parent or guardian.

Our COVID-19 restrictions have been updated. Fully vaccinated volunteers do not need to wear a mask. Those not fully vaccinated are asked to wear a mask when 6 feet of distance can’t be maintained.
