Welcome to the Palm Beach County Department of Airports
The Palm Beach County Department of Airports operates a system of four airports. Each airport plays a role in supporting the needs of the public and aviation community. Generating an annual economic impact of $4.8 billion, the airport system is entirely financially self-sustaining and operates without the use of ad valorem tax dollars or general fund revenues. Operating revenues are primarily generated by user fees and rentals paid by airlines and general aviation operators, public parking, commercial leases and concessions.
President Donald J. Trump Airport is a commercial service airport, serving both air carriers (airlines) and general aviation aircraft. The airport has a 24-hour air traffic control tower and a U.S. Customs & Border Protection port of entry facility. The general aviation traffic at PBI has a choice of three fixed base operators.
In addition to PBI, the county operates three general aviation only airports, which do not have any airline activity.
North Palm Beach County General Aviation Airport (F45) is in the north portion of the county and provides easy access to the Florida Research Park, Jupiter and Palm Beach Gardens. F45 is a designated reliever airport for PBI and serves both reciprocating engine and jet aircraft. Its primary runway, Runway 14/32, is 4,300 feet long by 75 feet wide with a maximum weight limit of 30,000 pounds. A proposed extension to 6,000 feet will enhance the airport's capabilities and further strengthen its role as a reliever to PBI.
Palm Beach County Park Airport (LNA) is located in Lake Worth, Florida, and is six miles south of PBI. LNA is just a short drive from the Palm Beaches' coastal communities, including Palm Beach, West Palm Beach and Boca Raton. LNA is a reliever airport focusing on the general aviation reciprocating engine and turbine driven aircraft. There are several flight schools located at LNA for both fixed wing aircraft and helicopters. This is a noise sensitive airport with residential communities surrounding LNA with heavy populations to the east, west and south sides of the airport.
Palm Beach County Glades Airport (PHK) is the county’s designated general aviation recreational airport. PHK is also designated for parachute operations. Situated in western Palm Beach County, PHK is adjacent to Lake Okeechobee. As the recreational airport within the airport system, PHK helps reduce congestion by accommodating recreational and sport aviation operations.
