The Palm Beach County 4-H Nature Club engages youth in outdoor nature-focused exploration, discovery, play, crafts, conservation, and learning.  The club also provides youth opportunities to learn in and about the natural world aruond them and aims to help them appreciate the natural world and become future stewards for the environment.

​Boca Buddies Club

​4-H Boca Buddies is primarily a group for homeschool families to work together on science, art, public speaking, and leadership. This year we are focusing on Space and Earth Science. We have a competition team composed of 12 homeschool members in grades 3-5 who compete at the Elementary Science Olympiad held at FAU each spring. The club is open to anyone to participate.  Participation is limited.  Our twice a month classes are taught by volunteers and parent helpers.  Parents are invited to stay and assist.

  • Participate in Student Government in our club.
  • Participate in Palm Beach and Florida State 4-H events.  
  • Participate in Field trips.
  • Participate in our Public Speaking each week. (First 15 minutes of each 4-H meeting.)
  • Science and art classes for Cloverbuds, Junior and Intermediate members using 4-H materials, the Science Olympiad manual, and misc. sources.
  • Competition Team for Homeschool Students in the Elementary Science Olympiad for grades 3–5.

​Boca Raton 4-H Science & Technology Club​The Boca Raton 4-H Science and Technology Club focuses on highly motivate high school students and the home school community to create our community-based FIRST FRC Team 3932  “Dirty Mechanics.” With the support of their great sponsors and dedicated mentors, students apply concepts from daytime STEM classes to the nuts and bolts of building a 120 lb. robot nights and weekends during a 6 week build season. Off-season, the club supports their community through Boca Helping Hands.  To inspire new members, mentors, and sponsors to join us they promote FIRST through robot demos, holiday parades and volunteer at FIRST tournaments.  Internationally, with one of our sponsors, we are starting FLL teams in Ghana! In the past three years, the Boca Raton Science and Technology Club has competed in the FRC World Championships twice! First in 2014, and in 2016. ​Flame Wes-Com Club​Our club is focusing on citizenship with an emphasis on American history. Different activities have included a field trip to Washington D. C. In January led by Mrs. Soles and Mrs. Novella. Club members are reading books related to American history and different historical events are discussed at meetings.Day of Week:  Tuesday

​Beach clean-ups, South Florida Fair, Earth Day, etc. Location based, not a set meeting place.​We can take new members from 6th to 12th grade only, who are in the North end of Palm Beach County or willing to travel.
​So Creative ClubSo Creative members are learning and practicing archery skills. Our members are a mix of kids, ages (as of Sept. 1, 2018) 8 to 17, who've never held a bow prior to joining us and those with considerable experience in archery. So Creative offers kids the chance to learn archery (use our equipment or bring your own) from the basic range rules and equipment to some history, care for the equipment. We work on improving form and technique, and offer lots of practice and some fun games. Meetings begin with instruction and warm-up exercises and generally include target practice. Students also gain improved confidence, social experiences, and more.​

​Mini Horse Club at The Good Earth Farm

Participants: 4-H Youth have to be 8 years of age and older in order to participate. Age group 5-7 for Cloverbud are able to participate as well, however, they are required to have parental supervision.

Educating on horse care: Learn how to care for miniature horses.  Animal Assisted Therapy with miniature horse, experience to jump, show, dress up and take to sick kids.

Educating on Parakeet Care and/or Cavy (Guinea Pig) Care: Learn body parts and basic care, as well as learn the possibilities of what you can do with them.  This club is for whoever wants to learn to take care of their own animal or work with an animal supplied by Good Earth Farm Club

Club Focus ~ Horticultural Practice

Club Goals ~ That participants have a good understanding of: 

  1. The mechanics of a garden.
  2. How plants reproduce including hands on propagative cloning, seed starting and division of roots.
  3. How to maintain the health of a garden bed including rotation, weeding and watering and soil compaction.

September = Starting to plant some of the items in the beds for the fall garden Seeds for winter
October = Continue planting and seed starts and repots for the winter garden, harvest and weed
November = Bed prep for the winter garden, till soil, irrigation check plant propagation, harvest
December = Continue to plant the winter garden, fill out performance charts for pre-season
January = Continue with winter garden, harvest and replace, care for cold sensitive
February = Keep an eye for cold problems, monitor moisture in beds, pick insects, weed
March = Thin out underperformers, chart problems, cont. weed, harvest seeds for summer
April = Preparation for the summer garden, seed starts, propagation
May = Prep of soils and propagation, seeds starts, maintenance
June = Finish planting the seeds, maintain, seed saving, propagation for nursery
July = Pruning of plants, weeding, harvest and starting seeds for the Fall garden
August = Continue propagation and seeds for the fall garden, Bed prep for fall garden
