Palm Beach County, Planning, Zoning, and Building performs three types of searches:     Fine/Lien, Open Permit and Code Enforcement Open Violation Searches, upon receipt of request and NON-REFUNDABLE payment of fee(s) (per PCN/address) for each search type.  Multiple addresses and/or large projects (retail/medical centers, mobile home parks, condo/apartment complexes, etc.) may be charged an additional labor rate.

Lien Searches are performed for the Property Owner's Name, Property Control Number, and Property Address. Results represent all Unincorporated Palm Beach County fines/liens processed by PZ&B, which are limited to Building Abatement/Demolition, Code Enforcement, Contractor's Certification, Lot Clearing, and Nuisance Abatement. PLEASE REMEMBER: Unless otherwise indicated, liens recorded by PBC PZ&B encompass not only the property being addressed but all subject properties owned by the same owner. PZ&B staff provides all information to you for your consideration.

Open Permit Searches are performed for the Property Control Number, and Property Address, Results represent all Unincorporated Palm Beach County Building permits.

Open Permit Searches can also be performed on properties or buildings that are not confidential, and will not be Certified by staff, by going to https://discover.pbcgov.org/pzb/administration/Pages/Search-Services-Administration.aspx​ Enter the address and/or PCN. View the Status column. ​ 

OPEN PERMITS HAVE A STATUS OF ACTIVE, INACTIVE, EXPIRED, EXCLUDED, IN PROCESS, READY FOR ISSUANCE, PRINTED, AGENCY APPROVED or STOP ISSUE. 

INDEX CARDS - Note that permit records prior to 1985 are presumed to be complete, however inspection records may be unreliable. Those permits are considered CLOSED.

Code Enforcement Open Violation Searches are performed for the Property Control Number, and Property Address, Results represent all Unincorporated Palm Beach County Code Enforcement Violations.

Fine/Lien, Open Permit and Code Enforcement Open Violation Searches of properties located in Municipalities (Property Control Number's which have the first two digits of anything other than 00) can be requested for Unincorporated Palm Beach County, Planning, Zoning, and Building information as indicated above. These searches will not include any services, or fines/liens provided by the Municipality. PLEASE CHECK YOUR ANNEXATION DATES TO SEE IF THE SEARCH IS WARRANTED.

Upon registration, searches and their results are requested and maintained using Planning, Zoning and Building’s Online Search portal, https://discover.pbcgov.org/pzb/administration/Pages/Search-Services-Administration.aspx. 

Payments may be made by credit card using the online portal, or if preferred by check through the mail.  If paying by check please mail the list of search tracking numbers and payment as follows:

All Lien and Open Permit Searches will be returned within 7 to 10 business days, once payment is received.  If required sooner (within 3 business days), there will be an additional rush fee.
