Planning, Zoning and Building’s (PZB) Building Division has a service available for same-day, remote inspections for home renovations/repairs using video and a smart phone. It does not require prescheduling and takes just a few minutes to complete. The inspection video can be recorded once the project is completed while the workers are still at the project site.  It’s hassle-free with no additional cost. Remote video inspection is only available for specific single family residential permits (i.e., A/C change outs, shutters, siding, etc.). See a flyer​ with more details or call 888-820-1180.

Keep in mind, permits for certain residential renovations/repairs are required by law. Awnings, flag poles, demolition, irrigation, pool decks and sheds are just a few examples of projects that require permits. There are also many projects that do not require permits.
