The EMS / Health and Medical Section
As part of emergency management operations, the EMS / Health & Medical Section of Emergency Management is primarily responsible for: The issuance of County Certificates of Public Convenience and Necessity (COPCN) EMS providers; enforcing the Palm Beach County EMS Ordinance (#2010-056), and its accompanying rules and regulations; inspecting all EMS providers’ ambulances / rescue vehicles and equipment annually; and providing staff support and guidance to the EMS Council, an twenty-member council that serves as an advisory body to the Board of County Commissioners.
