About Us
As part of the Office of Emergency Management, the EMS Section of OEM is primarily responsible for: the issuance of County Certificates of Public Convenience and Necessity (COPCN) EMS providers; enforcing the Palm Beach County EMS Ordinance #2017-030 and its accompanying rules and regulations; inspecting all EMS providers’ ambulances / rescue vehicles and equipment annually; and providing staff support and guidance to the EMS Council, a twenty member council that serves as an advisory body to the Board of County Commissioners.
