To better understand and prepare for the impacts of current and future flooding and sea level rise, the PBC Office of Resilience has partnered with six local municipalities to complete risk assessments. These assessments will identify how these environmental changes will affect critical assets in each community. The following six municipalities are partners in this project:

• Town of Cloud Lake

• Town of Glen Ridge

• Village of Golf

• Town of Haverhill

• Town of Hypoluxo
  

• Village of Palm Springs
  

A risk assessment involves a structured process used to evaluate a community’s vulnerability to the impacts of flood-related threats. 

• ​Step One— Critical Asset Data: ​The first step is compiling a list of all of the important community assets in each municipality.
• Step Two— Sensitivity and Exposure: The assessments will analyze the potential magnitude, severity, and extent of rainfall flooding, tidal flooding, and current and future storm surge flooding in combination with various sea level rise projection scenarios. 
• Step Three— Focus Areas: Once the list of critical assets is compiled and the potential impacts are evaluated, the team will identify key focus areas—or hot spots—where action should be prioritized.
  
• Result— Resilient Florida Risk Assessment: The assessment results will be compiled into standardized flood and sea level rise risk reports, compliant with Section 380.093, Florida Statutes, for each municipality.
  
• Next Steps— Adaptation Funding: Upon completion of the reports, the municipalities will then be eligible for future infrastructure implementation funding through the Resilient Florida Grant Program.
