Community Feeding Distribution System Assistance Request

 

Instructions for Applications for Assistance:

 

The Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners is accepting applications from Food Banks, Large Local Pantries, and Community Feeding Programs to provide assistance for emergency food distribution programs resulting from the COVID-19 outbreak.

The goal of the Emergency Food Distribution Plan is to ensure the existing food distribution infrastructure in Palm Beach County receives an influx of food that is sufficient to meet increased needs caused by the pandemic.

  • Requests for assistance must be directly related to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. No assistance will be provided for goods or services that were budgeted prior to March 1, 2020.
  • All assistance provided for goods or services shall be completed no later than December 30, 2020.
  • Applications may result in partial assistance to a portion of the program. Incomplete Applications will not be considered for assistance.
  • Applications must have supporting documentation as requested attached to be eligible for CARES assistance.
  • The feeding program is not designed to assist those who were not financially impacted by COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Agencies must serve Individuals or households residing in Palm Beach County who meet the program criteria.
  • Assistance will not be granted retroactively.
  • Due to the availability of funding, applications may result in partial assistance to a portion of the program.
  • It is the County’s preference to grant assistance for a period not to exceed 30 days (with extensions considered at the end of the period).
  • Successful applicants will be required to report outcomes on a weekly basis.
  • It is the County’s preference to purchase the requested goods or services directly on behalf of the successful applicant. The County will directly purchase goods and services from vendors identified by the applicants, if there is a financial advantage to do so.
  • The County will consider applications requesting reimbursement of approved goods and services, however all such requests for reimbursement must be identified prior to purchase and the reimbursement request must be accompanied by documentation.
  • The County is not issuing cash grants at this time.
  • All applications must be fully completed and signed where indicated.
