United States Senator Rick Scott visited the CSD Division of Senior Services' (DOSS) West County Senior Center on February 19, where he toured different areas to observe the activities offered at the center and greet the older population.

Over the past two years, DOSS has collaborated with several organizations to include Palm Beach Atlantic University Gregory School of Pharmacy, Palm Beach State College, Lakeside Medical Center, Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center, and Goodwill Industries to offer an array of programs and events that are both, educationally and recreationally rewarding.

DOSS expanded its outreach in the community tremendously in an effort to attract more participants and usage of its facility. Employees went door-to-door canvassing neighborhoods and sharing information with residents regarding programs, services and activities that they offer. Additionally, each December, DOSS hosts a senior holiday luncheon, Elves for Elders Gift initiative, and distributes holiday gift cards to the seniors. As the Center expands its activities, programming, and it increases the awareness of the important role West County Senior Center plays within the community.
