​The Josh's Benches for Awareness Corporation along with other county leaders were in attendance for a ceremony aimed at creating awareness for Veterans who are at risk for suicide and other mental health issues.

The ceremony took place at Veterans Park in West Boca Raton and was held to leave hope in spaces where darkness usually resides. This is done through the dedication of bright yellow benches installed by The Josh's Benches for Awareness Corporation. These benches symbolize the opportunity for re-integration as fully operating and mentally whole humans for our Veterans who have been damaged emotionally while serving others. The benches are also equipped with referral information for anyone who finds themselves in need. 

The Community Services Department's Division of Senior and Veteran Services (DSVS) serves military veterans and their dependents. DSVS can help with developing and filing claims and appeals with the Department of Veteran Affairs. DSVS staff are also available to provide assistance with compensation claims, pension, education, medical care, burial benefits, preference in employment and other issues as they arise.
