Community Services Partners with Palm Tran to Transport Homeless to Shelters

Palm Tran will transport homeless individuals from the John Prince Park, Phil Foster Park, Jim Berry Park and Curry Park at 3pm and 7pm today.  They will be transported from the park to the nearest shelter. We are encouraging residents to share this information widely.

The bus will pick up individuals at the following locations:

  • JPP-Commodore Pavilion (2 buses)
  • Phil Foster-next to the Bridge
  • Jim Berry-in the car loop
  • Curry Park-next to the 1st Pavilion

We are strongly encouraging individuals to get on the bus today.  If winds are strong (above 45mph) tomorrow, Palm Tran will not be able to transport. They should only bring items that are deemed necessary.  Their items should include a sleeping bag, pillow and toiletries.

The following shelters will open at 1pm today:

  • Fairgrounds (Special Needs)
  • West Boynton Rec Center (Animal Shelter)
  • Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune Elementary
  • Independence Middle School
  • Lake Shore Middle School
  • Pahokee Middle School
  • Palm Beach Central High School
  • Palm Beach Gardens High School
  • Park Vista High School​
