Housing education helps individuals and families build the knowledge and skills needed to make informed housing decisions throughout the housing continuum. This type of education may include renting, budgeting for housing costs, understanding credit, preparing for homeownership, maintaining a home, and preventing housing instability. Housing education supports informed decision-making, financial readiness, and long-term housing sustainability by helping people understand their rights, responsibilities, and options. The goal of housing education is to promote stable, safe, and affordable housing while strengthening financial confidence and supporting overall household well-being.
