My Brother’s Keeper-Race to Equity Summit 2019

​My Brother's Keeper (MBK) Network, in partnership with Birth to 22: United for Brighter Futures, hosted the 2019 Race to Equity Summit February 20 and 21 at the Palm Beach County Convention Center. The summit exceeded established goals and objectives aligned with the theme Facing, Embracing and Leading with Equity. For two days, more than 500 attendees, including 108 youth from 14 middle and high schools, along with local and national speakers, engaged in dialogue regarding racial inequities, structural and systemic barriers that adversely impact youth and young adults of color. During the summit, the Future Leaders served in multiple capacities including:

  • Youth influencers and greeters – Members led pre and post engagement with workshop participants.
  • Distinguished guest interviewers- Future Leader VoiceBox co-host captured thoughts and views of keynotes speakers.
  • Volunteer work - The two (2) day Summit drew forty-seven (47) Future Leader volunteers daily.
