Alyssa Sangeeta Jacobson 2022 Scholarship Recipients Announced

Friends of Youth Services and Palm Beach County, Inc. has announced the 2022 Alyssa Sangeeta Jacobson Scholarship recipients. This year five recipients were named. The awarded scholarship provides $2,000.00 a year, distributed over two semesters to each recipient. The scholarship is renewable for up to four years, depending on degree or certificate program.

The application process included 52 reviewable applications. Following an online application process, finalists were selected based on application submission, letters of recommendation and written essay. Scholarship eligibility was limited to residents of Palm Beach County.

The 2022 Alyssa Sangeeta Jacobson Scholarship recipients:​

McKenzie Cooper, Glades Central High School

Ben-Gina Fantaisie, Atlantic High School

Paxton Brutus, Florida Atlantic University (FAU)

Humberto Sigler Finales, Florida Atlantic University (FAU)

Caleiyah Laws, Palm Beach Lakes High School

 

At a scholarship recipient ceremony held on May 25th, 2022, recipients received formal recognition of scholarship in the presence of family and the scholarship committee. Those who attended the ceremony also had the opportunity to hear from prior scholarship winners and how the scholarship supported them in achieving their educational goals.

The scholarship is in memory of Alyssa Sangeeta Jacobson. Alyssa was committed to living a self-sufficient life and discovering her passions. Her determination to pursue education, earning undergraduate and graduate degrees, enabled her to live consistent with those commitments. She hoped others could have support to achieve their goals. The Alyssa Sangeeta Jacobson Scholarship is dedicated to those who need a little extra assistance in achieving education goals.
