The Palm Beach County Water Utilities Department (PBCWUD) had its triple A bond rating re-affirmed by all three major rating services – S&P Global, Fitch and Moody's – after a recent review of PBCWUD's enterprise and financial risk profile.
Each of the three services noted PBCWUD's “stable outlook" based upon a broad and diverse service area that has seen an on-going growth in the customer base. PBCWUD was also noted for possessing affordable rates that are “low relative to median household income and when compared with those of neighboring systems."
Additionally, each of the three services noted PBCWUD's low debt burden while the utility was lauded for its financial management policies as well as its capital and financial planning.
PBCWUD provides drinking water, reclaimed water and wastewater services to approximately 595,000 residents of Palm Beach County.
