The Palm Beach County Water Utilities Department (PBCWUD) has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States (GFOA) for its 2017 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR).
The 2017 honor marked the 22nd straight year that PBCWUD's Finance and Administration team garnered the award.
PBCWUD's 2017 report measured 107 pages and was produced by Financial Analyst Joe Armiento, with assistance from Fiscal Manager Guy Eggertsson as well as Financial Analysts Lee Lemos and John Flynn.
The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting. The attainment of the Certificate of Achievement represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management. Submissions are judged by an impartial panel and must meet high standards for demonstrating a constructive "spirit of full disclosure" to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the CAFR.
