The Palm Beach County Water Utilities Department (PBCWUD) is excited to announce that it has received several awards from the National Association of Clean Water Agencies (NACWA), marking its fourth consecutive year receiving this national recognition. NACWA is the nation's industry leader in legislative, regulatory, legal and communications advocacy on clean water issues. Each year, NACWA recognizes high-achieving utilities for their performance in sustainable water treatment.
PBCWUD's Southern Region Water Reclamation Facility in Boynton Beach has been awarded the distinguished 'Gold' award, recognizing its impressive achievement of 100% compliance with the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) administered by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) over the past year.
PBCWUD was also recognized for its achievements at its Western Region North Wastewater Treatment Facility in Pahokee and the Western Region Wastewater Treatment Facility in Belle Glade, both of which have earned 'Silver' awards during the same period. These awards emphasize the utility's commitment to effective wastewater management, water reclamation and environmental stewardship.
