Historic Second Seminole War Presentation

On January 27, 2024, Christian Davenport, historic preservation officer and archaeologist from the Planning, Zoning, and Building Department (PZB) presented "The History of the Last Battle of the Second Seminole War." The presentation was featured in an event hosted by the county's Parks and Recreation Department at Loxahatchee River Battlefield Park in Jupiter and included period-dressed reenactors, weapons demonstrations, exhibitors, music, and a battlefield reenactment.

PZB's Historic Preservation/Archaeology Section is responsible for identifying, protecting, and promoting cultural resources (archaeological and historic structures), throughout unincorporated Palm Beach County. The Section offers an education component consisting of public outreach events and an internship program.   For more information, visit PZB - Planning Division - Archaeology (pbcgov.org).
