The Planning, Zoning and Building Dept. Welcomes New Deputy Director

The Palm Beach County Planning, Zoning and Building Department recently welcomed their new deputy director, Cindy Hoskin. 

 

Hoskin spent the last seven years with Miami-Dade County as Planning and Zoning's development manager and legislative supervisor, and Code Compliance's legal unit supervisor. She established and managed the legal unit supporting code compliance, legislation, building/permitting, contractor services, and lien Implementation.    Some of the legislation she was responsible for were in the areas of code enforcement, agritourism and agricultural preservation, commercial truck parking, accessory dwelling units, and workforce housing development. 

 

Prior to working in the public sector, she had a successful land development and construction consulting business serving as an owner's representative and project manager for small and large developers throughout Florida for nearly 20 years.  She also established and ran a national construction and land development program for Toyota USA, developing land and building automotive dealerships throughout the United States.

 

As a Florida native who grew up in the orange groves of Florida, Hoskin is devoted to serving the state through encouraging responsible economic development, land use, and property ownership, while preserving Florida's natural resources and beauty and in providing support for the preservation and growth of Florida's agricultural industry.

 

Hoskin has a law degree from the Florida International University School of Law and two undergraduate degrees in Political Science and Analytical Philosophy from Florida International University.
