On Nov. 28 and 29, over 79 supervisors, inspectors and plans examiners from the Building Division participated in a training seminar, Developing Effective Inspector Skills, that included customer service-based courses.  

The two-day event focused on problem-solving skills vital for the division's daily interactions with contractors, industry professionals and property owners. The courses also provided insight on effective communication and diplomacy skills especially important for these service-based positions.  

John Madden of the Building Officials of Florida hosted the event, and participants received six general continuing education credits for their participation. 

The Building Division always works to ensure life and property safety within our community through efficient and effective administration of enacted building codes and by taking a leadership role in code development and education.​
