On Nov. 7, 2023, Broward, Palm Beaches & St. Lucie Realtors Association (Association) hosted an event at the Vista Center for their members featuring presentations from Planning, Zoning and Building Department’s (PZB) Code Enforcement and Contractor Certification Divisions.   It was the first of a series of events that will feature presentations by PZB divisions to discuss their services and programs while addressing issues or concerns related to real estate industry professionals.

The Association’s Regional Vice President Leslie Suarez welcomed guests to the event which included opening remarks from PZB Executive Director Whitney Carroll.

PZB presenters included Code Enforcement Director Michele Pagan, Code Enforcement Manager Richard Torrance, Contractors Certification Director Oscar Alvarez, and Contractors Certification Field Investigator Connor Bernhardt.   Over 70 realtors were in attendance.

The presentations provided an overview of division services including the importance of hiring licensed and insured contractors, the code enforcement compliance process, and tips on how to avoid potential delays and troubleshoot problems.

The Broward, Palm Beaches, St. Lucie Realtors Association is the third largest local realtor association in the nation with a mission to enhance its members’ ability to conduct business professionally, ethically and profitably throughout their careers.
