PZB's Building Official Doug Wise joined Mayor Greg Weiss and other panelists for the 2023 Hurricane Readiness Summit on June 16, 2023 at FPL's Manatee Lagoon facility in West Palm Beach.  

Wise discussed the benefit of on-demand remote video inspections which assists property owners with a variety of inspections such as residential re-roofing permits.  The system allows contractors to obtain inspections as work commences without the need for prescheduling.   Additionally, inspections are performed while the contractor is on the job site, eliminating the inconvenience for the homeowner having to wait for an inspector.

The Mayor and other panelists including Building Division Coordinator Michael Gauger and Emergency Management Director Mary Blakeney discussed hurricane preparedness while stressing the importance of community involvement.  

The event was a collaboration of stakeholders including Gold Coast and Treasure Coast Builders Associations, National Home Builders Association and other insurance and industry professionals.
