PZB Prepares for Initial Damage Assessments Ahead of Hurricane Season

In preparation for hurricane season and other emergency events, PZB recently conducted mandatory initial damage assessment training for its staff. Over 300 employees participated in this essential training to ensure they are ready to respond quickly and effectively in the aftermath of a disaster.

These trained employees will be deployed throughout unincorporated Palm Beach County to conduct these assessments following a storm. This is a critical first step in the disaster recovery process.

The information collected:

  • Helps the County evaluate the scale of property damage
  • Is submitted to the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) for analysis
  • Is assigned a dollar value and shared with state and federal agencies
  • Supports the County's request for emergency recovery funding

Timely and accurate assessments are vital. The data provided by PZB's assessment teams directly impacts the amount of recovery funding the County may receive to assist residents and communities in rebuilding.

These efforts help ensure that the County receives the support it needs—support that benefits our families, neighbors, and local businesses during times of crisis.
