PZB Collaborates with Realtors Association on Milestone Inspections

On May 13, 2025, the Palm Beach County Planning, Zoning & Building (PZB) Department hosted members of the Broward, Palm Beaches & St. Lucie Realtors association for an informational presentation focused on milestone inspections—a critical building safety measure mandated by the State of Florida.

Milestone inspections are required for condominium and cooperative buildings that are three stories or taller to ensure continued structural integrity and resident safety. These inspections, prompted by state legislation, play a key role in identifying necessary repairs or improvements before issues escalate.

During the session, staff from PZB's Building Division provided an overview of the requirements for applicable buildings in unincorporated Palm Beach County including timelines, compliance procedures and PZB's Milestone website page.

The goal of the presentation was to equip real estate professionals with up-to-date information they can share with clients and stakeholders navigating these regulatory requirements.

A considerable amount of time was dedicated to a robust Q&A session providing the realtors an opportunity to address their concerns.

Thank you to our speakers PZB Deputy Executive Director Cindy Hoskin, Building Division's Senior Engineer Jeffrey Gronborg and Information Management Specialist Sean Bomford.

This collaboration reflects PZB's ongoing commitment to community engagement and proactive education to promote safe, resilient structures throughout Palm Beach County.
