On April 29, 2025, representatives from the Planning, Zoning & Building (PZB) Department's Contractor Regulations team hosted an educational outreach event in collaboration with the County's Division of Consumer Affairs and the State of Florida's Department of Business & Professional Regulation (DBPR).
These intergovernmental outreach efforts are key to strengthening relationships between agencies, fostering collaboration, and aligning resources to address shared challenges—ultimately enhancing service to Palm Beach County residents.
PZB led the discussions on a range of important topics, including:
- Jurisdictional responsibilities and inquiries
- Upcoming legislation and its local impact
- Streamlining referral and communication processes between agencies
- Future partnerships on outreach efforts and joint enforcement actions
By bringing agencies together, events like this support a more informed, coordinated, and proactive approach to consumer protection and regulatory compliance.
The PZB team consisted of Contractor Regulations Director Rick Torrance and Senior Field Investigator Jeremy Dennis.
Other participants included the County's Public Safety Division of Consumer Affairs Director Joe Smith, Manager Claudette Rifenberg along with investigators Juan Santiago, Derrick Young, Nicolas Frias, Jennifer Titheradge, and Michelle Jimerson. Senior Investigator Nolan Wilson represented DBPR.
