PZB Staff Attends Permit Tech Conference
Plans Specialists from the Planning, Zoning & Building Department (PZB) Building Division recently attended the inaugural Building Officials Association of Florida (BOAF) Permit Tech Experience, a conference focused on networking, professional development, and industry collaboration.
Attendees connected with industry leaders, explored best practices, and discussed legislative updates. “It was an excellent opportunity to expand my professional network," shared Sassy. “I appreciated the opportunity to attend, earn Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for my certification, and gain insight into how other municipalities operate," added Audra.
Key takeaways included:
- Clear communication among municipalities for consistent code interpretation
- Emerging trends in permitting and new technology for efficiency
- Improved customer service, workflow, and time management strategies
A standout moment of the event was the “10-Minute Talks" session, which featured Palm Beach County's own Joesanda Lovett. She shared how reminding herself that her presentation topic was a common experience helped her feel more at ease while speaking. Joesanda will soon bring her insights to the Building's Permit Center team, further enriching their knowledge and expertise.
This experience will help strengthen best practices within the Building Division, ensuring better service for Palm Beach County residents.
